RESOURCES
The Tools for Real Change
Real change begins with capability: the ability of organised people to act in a structured way, together with confidence and purpose, to achieve meaningful outcomes.
Heritage Australians provides the tools that turn conviction into capability through two connected pathways: Running Campaigns and Creating Structures. Together, they form the foundation of community organising, combining leadership and lawful organisation so Associations act with clarity, coordination, and influence.
These programs show how capability grows through action, how structure sustains progress, and how coordinated communities shape outcomes that last.
RUNNING CAMPAIGNS
From Shared Values to Collective Action
Learn how to turn shared purpose into organised campaigns that deliver real results for your community.
The Running Campaigns program builds the knowledge and confidence needed to lead effective actions. It shows how to identify issues, develop leadership, plan strategies, and communicate with clarity and purpose. Each campaign strengthens local capability and contributes to the coordinated influence of the wider movement.
Through eight online training topics and the Community Organising Handbook, you will gain practical methods for leadership development, storytelling, communication, and campaign planning. These resources guide you step by step from early conversations to visible, lasting impact.
This program includes:
- Eight online training topics introducing the principles of community campaigns.
- The Community Organising Handbook as a step-by-step guide to capable, coordinated action.
- Practical methods for leadership development, communication, and campaign planning.
CREATING STRUCTURES
The Framework for Confident, Coordinated Action
The Creating Structures program provides the organisational framework that allows Associations to act lawfully, consistently, and with integrity.
Centred on the Heritage Australians Constitution Toolkit, this program explains how to establish Associations, conduct meetings, manage records, and maintain accountability in every decision. It ensures that capability is supported by sound structure, and that every community can connect into the wider movement with confidence and clarity.
Through twelve online training modules and the Constitution Toolkit, Associations learn how to form, govern, and sustain themselves with transparency and professionalism.
This program includes:
- Twelve online training modules built around the Heritage Australians Constitution Toolkit for each state and territory.
- Model constitutions and by-laws written for compliance and clarity.
- Step-by-step guidance for incorporation, governance, and meetings.
- Templates, checklists, and forms to make administration straightforward.
HOW THESE PROGRAMS WORK TOGETHER
Running Campaigns and Creating Structures form a complete process of capability and coordination.
One develops leadership and action. The other establishes integrity and structure.
Many Associations begin through local campaigns. As these campaigns grow, the Creating Structures training helps formalise them into enduring organisations that connect into the wider movement. Together, they show how capability leads to structure, and how structure sustains action.
Through capability, organised people achieve collective influence.
Through structure, communities act with integrity and purpose.
